My name is Alison. I arrived here from the English Wikipedia after finding out that the wikti had been left unloved for so long. The one admin we have was missing in action and couldn't be contacted (I tried - no email set). There had been a lot of spambot vandalism, so I applied at meta for temporary adminship and got to work. I'm a reasonably proficient Irish speaker, having been taught as a child, and having been exposed to the language all my life. Today, I teach Irish part-time here in California. I'm also active on the Irish language Wiki (see here).

I have a deep love of the language and have taken on the work here as a result of my interest in ár dteanga nádúrtha féin. I'm also an experienced administrator on the very busy English Wikipedia[1] and have put some effort into getting the infrastructure here translated and up-to-date. As my temporary adminship is due to end soon, I'd dearly love to continue here and hope the community will support me in this.

Support. I'm new here, so I don't know how much weight my opinion may have. I know Alison from English Wikipedia, and I think she does a tremendous job over there. I'm confident that she would do just as well here. Writing this as Béarla for the non-Irish speakers here

I'd like to nominate Moilleadóir for adminship here. As this wiki goes, he's been a long-term, regular and very prolific contributor to the project here. He has an excellent knowledge of wiki protocols and procedures, being an editor on a number of other large wikis. His proficiency in the language would be invaluable to us all here were he to have access to MediaWiki namespace. Also, as there is only one active sysop on this project, we have a serious need for another. I highly recommend this editor to the community for adminship.
